Don Imus Leads Fox Business Network to First Weekly Ratings Victory Over CNBC
For the first time since it launched two years ago, Fox Business Network won the weekly ratings victory with key TV business rival CNBC. It was also the highest weekly ratings ever reached by Fox since its inception.
For his first week, which started on October 5, Imus averaged 148,000 viewers a day, while also simulcasting on WABC 770 AM radio.
While some in the industry are downplaying it as not that relevant because it doesn’t really compete with the same audience watching CNBC, you know it irks the peacock, and gives them a little to think about going forward.
After all, Imus is a lead-in, and those watching before and after will get a glimpse of what Fox Business has to offer, where before they weren’t tuning in, giving the channel further exposure.
