While the gScreen dual-screen laptop isn’t the first laptop to include a second screen, it is believed to be the first which includes two screens of the same size.
Othe dual-screen laptops have had an additional, smaller screen which could be bolted on.
Dubbed the “Spacebook,” the dual monitors target those who must multi-task while on the move; especially photographers, designers and video editors who must go back and forth between applications in order to perform their work. Others this would work well for would be those in the financial industry on the move who always use several monitors to track a number of sources of information.
Understanding that the dual screens wouldn’t need to be used at all times, and of course the transportation factor, it was designed to allow the monitors to slide in order to take the same amount of space that an individual screen would take. The screens are 15.4 inches each.
A couple of things to keep in mind if interested in the Spacebook from Alaska-based gScreen is it will increase the weight of the laptop, while also requiring more energy which will of course drain the batteries quicker.
The cost is estimated to start at around $3,000.
