Business Trends | China - Land of Opportunity for U.S. College Grads?
Business Trends
A recent report from the New York Times said that a growing number of college grads from the U.S. have been going to China to get jobs, as opportunities at home continue to be hard to find.
Many of the students leaving also do it without having no knowledge of the Chinese language, although when hired it isn’t long before they’re communicating from lessons and interaction with the culture.
While getting a job is the top priority, other factors include getting to start at a higher place on the career rung. Many say they’re about three steps higher when working in China than they would be in the U.S.
Some western consultants operating in China say that if you’re able to make a significant contribution in China, it’s a great addition to your resume.
