Intel announced that they have developed more ways to connect with their Intel Health Guide, a simple and effective white box with a screen which allows people to look up their health information at any time or link them with their doctors.

According to Intel, users will now be able to access their health info through their regular phone service, a 3G/cellular wireless or their cable/DSL broadband connection.

With the ability to transfer health data via its integrated camera - both text and video, Intel believes this will make it even easier to use for patients.

“We believe that deploying technology in the home can help pave the way for a more personalized, cost-effective health care system and we will continue to innovate and develop products that achieve this,” said Louis Burns, vice president and general manager of the Intel Digital Health Group. “With more than 80 percent of health care spending focused on patients with one or more chronic diseases, we need to work together to make dramatic changes to how care is delivered.”

The Intel Health Guide is used by a number of in-home health care service organizatons for their clients.

Just a couple of months ago Intel and General Electric said they were partnering together to invest around $250 million over the next several years to create IT technologies in the health field, which includes the Intel Health Guide.
