In a stunning announcement today, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin announced she’ll be stepping down as Governor of Alaska on July 26.

At a news conference Palin said, “We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time on another scale and actually make a difference for our priorities.”

Palin said she feels this is the best for Alaska at this time, and will be succeeded by Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.

The context of this decision probably won’t be known for some time, and pundits are already going all over the map as to what this means, with some saying she’s not interested in national politics, to others thinking it could be in preparation for a national presidential run in 2012.

She hinted at one possibility that may be the best use of Sarah Palin, saying “I will work very hard for others…I will support others…”

I’ve thought that may be the best for Sarah Palin for a long time, as a corrupt mainstream media and its psychotic attacks on her would have done everything they could have to destroy her and/or her family, in one of the most hate-filled an unprecedented attacks on a political candidate in history.

This will be a very interesting story going forward to see what exactly Sarah Palin ends up doing.
