As with many singers and musicians, they got their start singing in churches, and in many cases were ‘discovered’ by those who happened to be in attendance while they were singing, Katy Perry experienced just that, as industry veterans based in Nashville heard her sing.

One of the original things about Katy Perry is the way she dresses, which is borrowed from a number of influences, and then packaged in somewhat of a vintage look.

While Perry’s music makes a break with her religious background, rumors have it that it definitely has had some negative results in her relationship with her devout Christian parents.

Her songs have also stirred up controversy, which has probably helped her, as everyone on all sides of the fence seem to have something negative to say about her music, saying she’s exploting bi-curiosity in people, or promoting homosexuality on the other, specifically with her songs “Ur So Gay” and “I Kissed a Girl.”

Either way, it’s helping her sell records and remain popular with her fans.

Perry has also been named as one of the sexiest woman in the world, even with her quirky style of dress, which isn’t evident in these smoldering photos of Katy Perry here.
