Vizio Loading its HDTV with Video Streaming and Internet Applications

TV Trends

Vizio may not be the name a lot of people think of when making a TV buying decision, but that could change very quickly as they are releasing a suite of Internet applications and ability to stream videos on its next HDTV.

Not only will owners be able to stream some free video from places like Showtime, Pandora and Revision3, they will also have the option to subscribe to video content providers like Amazon Video On Demand, Netflix, Blockbuster OnDemand, Rhapsody and Vudu.

Web social networkers will also get their place at the Vizio table, as they will be able to interact with Yahoo Widgets Engine, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.

All of this is great, but what is really cool is the Bluetooth remote included, which will have a QWERTY keyboard which will slide down for use. Very nice. It’s far past time this feature was part of the remote equation.

Users will be able to connect through a wired or 802.11 network.

The new Vizio XVT will start off at $749 for its 32-inch version, while their VF551XVT, which will include the option of 240Hz and LED-backing and also five HDMI ports will be available for $2,199. The XVT should come out in August, while the VF551XVT will be released in the early fall.
