There’s no doubt when Hollywood needs a character that is cold and emotionless in connection to a sci fi scenario, no one is better than Summer Glau to play the part.
The favorite of geeks everywhere, Glau personifies the coldness and lack of emotion in the characters she plays, and she does it very well.
And when you see her do all those flexible moves in the films … it’s really her doing it, as she used to be in ballet until an injury cut back on her practice.
Fans were introduced to Glau primarily from her role in the popular sci fi series Firefly, although she did have a television role in a one-off appearance in Angel before that. She reprised her role as River Tam in the film Serenity, which continued the Firefly story.
A couple of other roles I really liked her in was as Tess Doerner in The 4400, and of course her most recent role as Cameron Phillips, a Terminator sent back to protect John Connor on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Summer Glau has found a strong niche and has a dedicated fan base which always follows those who are associated with sci fi in any way.
In think she has a bright and long future ahead of her, and I really look forward to her next projects.
