Dita Von Teese owns burlesque, as she resurrected it from obscurity to make it one of the major mainstream fashion trends of the day.

Not long ago she was featured in the fashion mag L’Officiel Hommes Paris, wearing designs from collections by fashion powerhouses Christian Louboutin and Louis Vuitton, being photographed by the highly sought after Milan Vukmirovic.

When I look at Dita, I think she’s attempting to have a part of the look of “notorious” Betty Page, who was one of the most well known icons of her era.

Either way, Dita Von Teese is definitely carving out her own niche, and she really has no competition within it. She and her team are smart marketers, and doing a good shop of shaping the persona of Dita Von Teese, creating a fascinating and interesting career for herself.
