Cheryl Cole was voted the 2009 Sexiest Woman Alive by FHM, knocking last years’ sexiest woman, Megan Fox, off the top. Even so, Megan was able to hold on solid, claiming the No. 2 spot this year.

I’m not sure about this though. While Cheryl Cole, who is an X Factor judge in the UK, along with being a member of Girls Aloud, is pretty enough, she’s more like the girl next door to me than the sexiest woman live.

Then when you consider they actually voted the fading and nutty Britney Spears into the No. 4 position, it seems to speak to at minimum a suspension of belief that the votes weren’t rigged.

Of course this is nothing more than a popularity contest, so those getting the most media coverage at the time of the vote will score big, and with Britney, that’s understandable because of her tour and the endless lawsuits and revelations of her mental incapacity.

In Britney Spears case, it was probably a feeling sorry for her vote, than the idea that she could in any way be considered one of the sexiest woman alive. Just the thought is gross.

Anyway, congratulations to Cheryl Cole on her being voted in as 2009’s sexiest woman alive.
