Business Trends | Owen Van Natta Takes Reins At MySpace

Business Trends
After much speculation, former Facebook executive Own Van Natta was confirmed as being the replacement of Chris DeWolfe as CEO of MySpace for News Corp.
Van Natta used to be the chief operating officer (COO) of Facebook, and was eventually moved to chief revenue officer at the company, along with vice-president of operations.
In a highly publicized departure from Facebook, Van Natta left in the summer of 2007, saying he preferred the role of CEO at another company. Now with News Corp and MySpace he has it.
Leading the initiative to hire Van Natta was former AOL CEO Jonathan Miller, who was recently hired by Rupert Murdoch to be chief digital officer at the company.
MySpace has been the most successful social networking web site so far, as far as by being the most commercially viable.
