Gaming Trends | ‘Prototype’ Released - Video Game to Comic Book
DC’s Wildstorm comic book brand has released the first installment of “Prototype,” based on an upcoming open-world action game by the same name. There has been a slow, but increasing gaming trend toward bringing video games to comic books; an interesting twist on how things have been done in the past.
Hank Kanalz, VP & General Manager of DC’s WildStorm said recently on why they chose Prototype for a comic series: “PROTOTYPE’s back-story, visuals and gameplay are stunning, and we have every intention of bringing those core pillars to our book because this is a great opportunity to expand on the world they’ve created, and build something new and interesting for comic book fans.”
Prototype was just released as a six part mini-series comic, and if successful, we could see this gaming trend continue in a larger way.
